This Sunday, the 8th day of April 2007 marks the 1 year anniversary of the founding of Bloc 8406, a group of originally 118 pro-democracy activists (living in VN) demanding freedom, democracy and human rights for Viet-Nam. Since then there have been major crackdowns on individuals involved with the pro-democracy movement, from arrests of Attorneys Le Thi Cong Nhan and Nguyen Van Dai to an unfair trial sentencing Father Nguyen Van Ly to 8 years in prison. Many other activists are currently on house arrest, under police surveillance, in prison, etc…but this does not stop the people from continuing to fight for their rights!
